"I preferably draw the environment I perceive most immediately. Especially humans, plants and animals in their present movement and change are of my interest. Drawings in an elongated format, like rolled or fan-folded paper drawings, unite and merge different moments. Combined with each other, standing in space, hanging or lying, the drawings are presented as spatial installations, which can be physically experienced."

The works of the artist shown within the group exhibition "erstbegegnung / first ascent" are small-format drawings of landscapes, nudes and portraits. The works emerge from working in the studio as well as outside and are results of the encounters of the artist with the flora, fauna and portrayed persons. Movements, changes of position and interactions are depicted in the drawings. Even though the artist tries to capture the intrinsic of the portrayed people, the drawings themselves do not claim to be a representation of them. Far more his dynamic compositions, evoking multiple exposure, make visible entities, that seem to withdraw themselves of any classification.
