Frauke Alina Becker bases her work on the organic forms of nature. The artist's particular focus is on singular, looping plant parts and amorphous forms.
While her ceramics, which seduce the viewer to touch them, evoke associations with algae, rhizomes, roots, but also flames or throwing stars, her paintings and drawings, some of which are combined with individual words or text fragments, are designed more for a visual-cognitive reception. What all works have in common is that they can be read as metaphors for both human coexistence and the fragile coexistence of nature and culture. Elementary, moreover, is the exploration of central aspects of coexistence such as touch, movement, proximity and distance, and what meaning and effect these have.
